Your privacy matters to me. This Privacy Policy explains what information The Well Canine ("this site," "I," "me") collects when you visit thewellcanine.com, how it's used, and the choices you have.

This site is operated from the State of Arizona, and this policy is written to comply with applicable federal law, the Arizona Privacy Act (A.R.S. § 18-551 et seq.), and the requirements of the Amazon Associates Program.

By using this site, you agree to the terms described here.

Information I Collect

I collect information in a few limited ways:

Information you provide directly — such as your email address, if you choose to sign up for the free Canine Wellness Guide or another newsletter opt-in.
Automatically collected information — like browser type, device type, pages visited, time on page, and general usage patterns, gathered through cookies or similar analytics technology.
Affiliate link click data — when you click a product link, Amazon's or the retailer's own systems track that click for affiliate-commission purposes. I do not store or receive your personal shopping data from those transactions.

I do not collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, financial account details, or health data about you.

How Information Is Used

Information collected on this site is used to:

Send the free Canine Wellness Guide and occasional related emails, if you've opted in
Understand how visitors use the site so it can be improved over time

Your email address is never sold. It may be shared with the email service provider I use to deliver newsletters and the guide, solely for that delivery purpose — see the Email Communications section below.

Analytics & Tracking

This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor behavior — which pages are popular, how long visitors stay, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics collects data such as your IP address, browser, device type, and browsing activity on this site. This data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

I do not use this site to build individual profiles or engage in behavioral advertising.

Email Communications

If you subscribe to receive the Canine Wellness Guide or email newsletter, your name and email address are stored with my email service provider (currently Kit), which processes that data solely to deliver emails on my behalf.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. After unsubscribing, I will stop sending marketing emails. You may also request deletion of your data by contacting me directly — see the Contact section.

I do not send unsolicited commercial email. I do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any other party.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

Email subscribers — your name and email address are retained for as long as you remain subscribed. Upon unsubscribing or requesting deletion, your data is removed from active lists within 30 days.
Analytics data — Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted.
Contact inquiries — messages you send me directly may be retained for up to two years for record-keeping purposes.

Data Security

I take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the information collected on this site, including use of secure (HTTPS) connections and relying on trusted third-party service providers who maintain their own security standards.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While I strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, I cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, I will notify affected users as required by Arizona law (A.R.S. § 18-551 to 18-552) and applicable federal law.

Third-Party Links

This site contains links to third-party websites, including Amazon.com, product brands, and other retailers. Once you leave The Well Canine via one of these links, this Privacy Policy no longer applies — that third party's own privacy policy governs your data. Note: The Well Canine is a small independent site. Certain provisions of the Arizona Privacy Act apply only to businesses that process data above specified volume thresholds. Regardless of threshold applicability, I am committed to honoring these rights as a matter of good practice.

California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

EU Residents — GDPR
